What to Do When Buying Kids During Their “Tweenage” Years

Buying gifts for children is usually a fun and relatively straightforward task, however things can get a bit more complicated once the children begin to grow up into teenagers!  Those years in between being a child and a teen are often called “tweenage” years…here’s how to approach these awkward years with ease…

Firstly, don’t try to second guess.  It is much easier if you check with parents or children themselves what sort of gifts they might like.  Hobbies can easily change during these in between years and children who were once heavily into one thing can soon find all that “too childish”.  Best check with those in the know what they are into!

Next, don’t be afraid to ask in stores!  The checkout and shop staff usually know quite a lot about customer purchases, as they see them all the time.  They might have some amazing ideas for items from their stores which might appeal to different age groups.  Explain that the children aren’t quite teenagers, but are beginning to grow out of their child like things, and you’ll be surprised what you can find!
